Rubbermaid Reveal Mop: A Review & Giveaway

Let me reveal a better way to clean!

I present the Reveal Spray Mop from Rubbermaid!

I am sure you are all familiar with Rubbermaid. My mum got lots of their storage solutions when I was young and they are still being used decades after. So the brand definitely speaks quality and durability.

But to be frank, I never had the chance to try out their household cleaning products. Thanks to Porter Novelli and Aussie Mummy Bloggers, I received a complimentary set to try out.

Since we got puppy Dali, I constantly find myself bent over the floor, with a spray bottle and paper towels on hands. Apologies for the image but How do you tell a cavoodle not to step on its wee and run off?  Yes, Dali pees on the pad (hurray!) but he drops trickles and makes paw prints on the floor after he's done with his business. I just had to clean it up right away. Then wash his paws too.

Unfortunately, this motion has taken its toll on my back again which has been predisposed to hurt when I stupidly burdened myself early last year to mop the floorboards DAILY. The therapist said the pulling and pushing action is the culprit and so I had to tolerate deep tissue massage for weeks to relieve the pain. So I was open to a less stressful alternative.

The REVEAL MOP system proved handy and convenient and less taxing on my back. It was designed to SAVE MONEY and WASTE LESS. Can you imagine how much money is spent on disposable pads? It made me realized how I wasn't being frugal for years. Yikes!

Anyway, the box came with a mop, a microfiber cloth (was already attached to the mop) and a bottle for you to put YOUR OWN SOLUTION (whether its ammonia, baking soda, vinegar etc.). I simply poured in my current  cleaning product, pop the bottle in the mop and spray once in a while during the mopping process. TOO EASY!

The handle is amazingly STURDY & LIGHT, unlike other mops which have either too heavy or flimsy handles that make mopping more hard work than it should be. Filling up the bottle would of course give extra weight.

The mop head was just the right size. Not too wide or narrow. And is really EASY TO MANEUVER between chair legs, under the table and crevices. The MICROFIBER picks up dirt well too, 50% more dirt per swipe it says on the packaging. Way better than traditional sponge mops.

But what I appreciate most is the WASHABLE microfiber cloth. I am simply averse to using a dirtied up mop. I am sure I can grab some extra at Bunnings to use when the other is in the laundry. Why not be green this year too, yeah?

And most importantly my other hand is free of the spray bottle!

Now, for your chance to experience this better way to clean floors, simply let me know what area in your house you will attack first should you be the lucky winner of a REVEAL MOP  from Rubbermaid  (retails for $39.95) . This giveaway ends February 2. Just in time to keep those floors sparkling for Valentine's. Open to Australian residents only.

I'd use it on my living room which is always dusty! I have no idea where all these dust comes from, space?

The main door being so adjacent to the living room is not helpful too.

I want one!

Definitely the Kitchen, the floor is there seems to be a magnet for mess and disaster!

I'd use this in the living area of my tiny apartment...I have floorboards that I clean up by hand using a special cleaner to avoid streaks. A Rubbermaid mop sounds perfect!

Our whole house is timber floors and we have two messy toddlers, a big dog, a cat, 6 chickens and a husband who likes to garden.

Suffice to say, our floor gets filthy... I work full-time so a quick and easy product is right up my alley.

The first area I'd attack is the bathroom-- with two toilet training toddlers you can guess at it's state!

This mop looks fantastic, I would attack my whole house with that ( I am also a daily mopaholic) Start at one end and just keep going I would. Look out floors and yay for no more sore back!!

Having hard wood and tiles throughout my house it's a difficult choice. Think I'd have to attack the dining room first because Miss 5 is the messiest eater in the world, and there's always something to mop up under her chair

I would use this in the kitchen because the floor always needs mopping after I've fried something and spatter is everywhere including on the floor.
I'd get an extra microfibre pad and use it in the bathroom too.

LOve to win this for my hubby & our wedding anniversary LOL - he mops the floor in our house because I'm not strong enough to wring the mop dry enough - the floor turns into a slip & slide otherwise.
The kitchen because I have two messy 4 yrs old who always spill drinks and then use my good teatowels to wipe up the spillage.

Everywhere! I have a fluffy cat who sheds everywhere and leaves dirty pawprints wherever she goes, and a boyfriend who tracks mud and grass through the house daily.
